Elopements + Small Weddings
The ONE day where the details matter the most.
Let me catch all the moments and you just enjoy them!
Wedding Vs. ElopeMent
By definition, to elope is "to run away secretly with the intention of getting married usually without parental consent" according to Merriam and Webster. However, it has been becoming more and more often that elopements are turning into small weddings with a fancy title. Trust, me... this is exactly what I did!
So, I run into the question frequently. What do you charge for an elopement?
I then end up giving my elopement price and slowly the elopement evolves into a small wedding. I have no issues with that whatsoever, but I do have separate fees for the two.
My definition of an elopement for my photography package is different than Merriam and Webster. It is also different than other photographers. So I think it is important to establish the lines of the two so you have a better understanding of what you can expect package wise and cost wise.
- ELOPEMENT - A simple union of marriage where the couple may or may not invite minimal guest. There is a simple ceremony lasting no longer than 30 minutes. Total length in time from getting ready to the end of the event ranges from 3-5 hours.
- WEDDING - A small to large gathering of the unity of two people. There is a ceremony and a possible reception. There may be a bridal party and groomsmen. The client will likely expect photos of their family and guest. Oftentimes, there is a send off and the event can last all day. The length of this event could range from 3-12+ hours.
Of course each special day is a case by case as far as quotes, but you will have an idea on my base prices when you inquire.
Be sure to ask questions and give good details on your expectations so that we are on the same pages for the best results. I'll be sure to do the same <3
